Developing an Internationalization at Home Strategy through Virtual Exchange

This training aims to help teams of university staff (e.g. international relations officers, deans and heads of departments, technical staff, educators, etc.) better understand how virtual exchange can best be implemented in their institution to help promote internationalization at home strategies. Preference will be given to teams that include a Senior International Officer or international education leader, a high-level academic leader, online learning professionals, instructional designers, teaching and learning center professionals, and/or educators. There are four modules: How to institutionalize virtual exchange in higher education contexts; Evaluating your institution’s capacity to implement and sustain virtual exchange; Strategies for providing effective professional development; and Formulating a plan for initiating and supporting a virtual exchange strategy at your institution

Administrators,, Educators (Faculty/Teacher/Learning Facilitator), Program Coordinators, Institutional or Organizational Leaders

Length of Training

Four weeks, two hours of asynchronous work and 90 minutes of synchronous session per week. Or, 16 hours online synchronous video communication which can be divided into different time slots depending on an organization’s needs (e.g., four half-day slots, two full-day slots, eight two-hour slots, etc.)
