United Planet’s Youth2Youth Impact Investing fosters sustainable and inclusive economic development through youth-led social entrepreneurship. It empowers young individuals from Iraq, Syria, and the United States to address economic challenges and drive positive change in their communities. Leveraging the principles of impact investing and the UN SDGs, the program equips youth with the skills and knowledge to become leaders in creating meaningful economic opportunities for themselves and their communities. The program offers participants financial literacy, impact investing knowledge, networking opportunities, and mentorship.
Activities
Participants in the United Planet Youth2Youth Impact Investing program engage in a diverse array of activities aimed at equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to drive sustainable economic growth through social entrepreneurship projects addressing the UN SDGs #8 (Promoting sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all) and #9 (Building resilient infrastructure, promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialization and fostering innovation). Throughout the seven-week program, participants undergo orientation sessions, engage in project-based learning, and attend expert-led colloquium sessions. They gain proficiency in financial literacy, develop a deep understanding of impact investing principles, and learn to create compelling pitch decks. Participants also benefit from networking opportunities, experience working on challenges faced by social enterprises, mentorship from industry leaders, and the possibility of internships with leading impact investing firms and social enterprises. By the end of the program, participants are empowered to make a positive social impact, equipped with enhanced resumes, leadership skills, critical thinking abilities, and a global citizenship mindset, ready to tackle economic challenges in their communities and beyond.
