The Stevens Initiative is launching a series of webinars to share information that might be helpful to individuals and organizations that are starting or conducting virtual exchange programs. It is our pleasure to announce the first webinar in this series:
Facilitating Collaborative Learning in Virtual Exchange
Featuring: Dr. Katja Riikonen, Virtual Exchange and Curriculum Specialist, Soliya
Wednesday, September 6 at 12:00pm EDT
Soliya, an international nonprofit organization, engages young people across the globe in face-to-face, technology-enabled dialogue to empower youth to foster cross-cultural understanding and cooperation. Join this webinar, featuring Dr. Katja Riikonen, to learn Soliya’s approach to collaborative learning in its virtual exchange programs. We will discuss the process of developing both communication skills and attitudes through a facilitated, learner-led process. The webinar will also focus on key features of constructive cross-cultural communication in diverse multi-disciplinary groups, and how to ensure positive learning outcomes through multi-partial facilitation.
